New Chair
The Vineland Library (Moses F. Rittenhouse) has a new addition to the children's department. Ryn's Furniture of Beamsville kindly donated a 'chair and a half' to the library. It is currently being put to good use. February |

Local History Talk
Local History Talks continued on May 9th with Len Pennachetti talking about the recent history of Jordan. On May 16th there will be 2 presentations; Jim Fretz will speak at 10 a.m. about Jordan Harbour, and at 11 a.m. Helen Booth will speak on the topic "Weavers of the Twenty". |

As part of the Library's 4th season of Local History talks, Helen Booth, director of the Jordan Historical Museum of the Twenty, gave a talk on "Weavers of the Twenty". Here she is describing an original coverlet from the Museum's collection. |

New plants for planters from Garden Club
The local garden club has offered to put seasonal plants in the planters that sit on either side of the main entrance to the MFR Library. They also donated a book on gardening for our collection, "The Perennial Gardener's Design Primer". April |

Strawberry Festival
Staff and Library Board members manned the Library's display at the Strawberry Festival on June 20. They promoted the library's many programs, including the summer activities for kids. |

Agent 009
A group of young detectives were hard at work solving the "Mystery at the Library" on Wednesday July 8. The program is part of the TD Summer Reading Club. Tickets for all programs in Beamsville are almost sold out, but spaces are still available for the Vineland programs. |

Author Talk
Authors Kelly Armstrong and Edo Van Belkom were at the Lincoln Centre on Monday night. The authors talked to the audience, read from their work, answered questions, and signed autographs for their fans. (October 19, 2009) |
