Jim Fretz talks to an appreciative audience about the thriving commercial centre that existed, over 100 years ago, along the Twenty-Mile Creek . Here he displays a picture of a load of locally grown asparagus awaiting shipment by boat to Toronto. Jim's talk was part of the Historic Lecture Series being sponsored by the Lincoln Public Library. The next talk will be given by Helen Booth of the Jordan Historical Museum. The Library itself is looking to digitize historical images of the area. Mr. Rowan spoke as part of the Saturday Morning Historic Lecture Series.
